Hi I’m LuLu!
Even as a small child, I realized I was made to create. I have always found incredible beauty in the world beyond concrete realities, seeing nuances that are often unnoticed; even unappreciated at first glance. I fell in love with oil painting while majoring in Studio Art at Lenoir Rhyne University.
For me, painting is where I find my joy and with each stroke of my brush, I know I am spreading that joy to the world. My art is a platform to express my heart. Each painting captures a distinctive view of the world. Each blank canvas is a new beginning.
Art tells a story. It tells MY story. And I’ve always been so inspired by the unique stories of others.
Just like my life journey, while every experience has not unfolded exactly the way I initially hoped it would, I realize that God has always guided each step along the way. Even my missteps. And there has always been exquisite beauty to be discovered or revealed. I have found that, most often, it is the parts of my story that seemed the most shameful, broken and chaotic where I now realize that God has used those exact pieces to create His masterpiece. I just needed to be open to a different perspective….His perspective; beyond the concrete realities.
Being an artist is not just a passion or a hobby. It is a Divine calling. As I allow my hands to be moved to authentically share my story and the stories of others, to capture unique perspectives of the world around us, I hope it will inspire others to do the same.
